Soo Young Bae
An installation Artist, Public Art Director
Bae Soo-young is a South Korean installation artist. After returning to Japan in 2011 after studying in Japan for 18 years (Osaka University of Arts undergraduate, master’s, doctoral completion), she installed her work at the Alpensia Resort to pray for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. Public art broadcasting project planning ‘DNA Korea Art Changes the World’. She produced Public Drinking Water Pipes & TVs with the Play Bus Museum, a landmark in Sinchon, Seoul, and Seoul Tap Water Arisu at the Seoul City Hall and Seodaemun Peace Park. She installed sculptures in various bus shelters and apartments all over Korea. Recently, she has demonstrated many capabilities as a public artist, including the Yongin Metaverse Invitational Exhibition by the Yongin Cultural Foundation and the 3.1 Monument to the Independence Movement in Ttukseom, Seongdong-gu. In addition, he is widely known as a multi-functional installation artist, such as the appearance of UNIQLO Airism advertisements and art collaboration with LG Household & Health Care Cosmetics Laqver Cushion Pact and Namyang Dairy’s Delicious GT Milk using the electronic circuit that is the motif of the work. She is concentrating on breathing new life into recycled flat art using ‘waste circuit boards’.
